Karadeniz Technical University or Black Sea Technical University is a public research university in Turkey, founded in 1955 in Trabzon, the capital of the Black Sea region. The university is considered the fourth oldest university in Turkey, and it is the first university established in Turkey outside the cities of Ankara and Istanbul.
The university was a primary school that was called Ataturk Primary School, but after 1966 the campus was built, which was successively developed until it reached the current campus, and thus this university is considered the largest university in Turkey. About 8 years after its foundation, the College of Basic Sciences, the College of Civil and Architectural Engineering, the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and the College of Forestry were established by assigning personnel to the Office of the Rector and its Colleges under Law No. Karadeniz University Campus has 17 colleges, more than 60 departments and many laboratories. and research centers. The number of the teaching staff at the university is 2,300 professors, and there are more than 56 thousand Turkish and foreign students.
