Taurus University was founded on July 23, 2009 by the Turkish Mersin Educational Foundation, Mersin Eğitim Vakfı, which was established 40 years ago by Yasar Baybogan, head of the Baybogan Organization.

Taurus University is one of the first private Turkish universities in the Mediterranean region of Turkey and is recognized in the European Union. It is 19 km from Adana and 38 km from Mersin. The area of ​​the university is about 210,000 square meters, comprising 3 faculties, a vocational school and an institute of social sciences, where All subjects are taught in English, except for the subjects of the Faculty of Law and the Vocational School.
