It is a public university located in the Turkish city of Isparta. It was established on July 11, 1992, with a strong infrastructure in higher education. Today, the university occupies a prominent place among higher education institutions with its academic units, teachers, number of students, scientific research, physical capacity, cultural, social and sports activities. It is now in the ranks of the largest and most desirable educational institutions in Turkey for the quality of its education and its high-level teaching staff.
The language of instruction at the university is Turkish and English, and the position of the university's president is occupied by Professor Ilker Hussein Çakırı and his assistants, Prof. Murad Ali Dolobju, Prof. Sedat Aktan and Prof. Muhammed Saltan.
The number of university students reached 71,505 male and female students, including 33,239 university students and 10,490 graduate students, and the number of university graduates reached 160,373 male and female students.
The university includes 19 colleges, 21 institutes of higher vocational education, 4 higher institutes, 6 institutes, 9 units associated with the university's presidency, and 43 research and applications centers.
